The Institute of Food Research is internationally recognised for its high quality strategic and applied research in food, diet and health. It now makes this expertise available to small and medium-sized companies in the food industry.

We realise that these companies often demand a rapid response and IFR Extra Ltd has been set up to provide such a service. FR Extra Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Institute of Food Research (IFR) with its headquarters on the Norwich Research Park

We have our own laboratories, a dedicated management team and staff but can also call on the full range of expertise and resources of the Institute. We are able to put together multidisciplinary teams quickly which can be enhanced by the expertise and capabilities of our carefully selected partners on the Norwich Research Park and further afield.

We have also recently opened new offices and laboratories in The Exchange building on the Colworth Science Park in Bedfordshire. We will shortly be announcing a new range of services based from this office in addition to those currently on offer. 

We will undertake short-term applied food research, trouble-shooting and specialist analysis making IFR's expertise available and affordable to all companies. We can also provide access to food experts on a consultancy basis.
